On Friday, June 18, at 11 a.m., St. Philip’s Anglican Church in Milford will hold a special service in memory of the 215 children who died at the residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. The service will be led by Fr. Don Davidson, our priest-in-charge, and we hope to be joined by Doug Green of the Parish of Tyendinaga. We are also hoping that you, and other members of our community, who are looking for a way to express their grief and sorrow will join in. All are welcome.
The service will be held at the Church, outdoors weather permitting, so please bring a lawn chair. It will also be recorded and the link posted on stphilipschurch.ca. We ask you to consider wearing something orange as a further show of support. COVID-19 protocols will be in place – please wear a mask and social distance.
Our service will begin with the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation, then the church bell will toll 215 times. This will provide us the opportunity for a short vigil, after which the Remember the Children Prayer will be offered to conclude our time together.
