The first Sunday in Advent is November 28, 2021.
The Gospel readings for this Advent are from Luke. And for this first week, we are brought into Jesus’ presentation at the temple. It is a lovely story of Simeon’s faith in God that he would not die before seeing the Messiah. Join us at 11:00 a.m. for a service of Holy Communion and to hear more of what Luke has to say to us.
December 5, 2021 is the Second Sunday in Advent.
In this week’s Gospel, Luke brings Jesus’ cousin John (aka John the Baptizer) into the story. He went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Come to our service of Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m. to learn more about the beginning of our baptism.
The Third Sunday in Advent is December 12, 2021.
We continue the story of John, and the people who came to be baptized. But they weren’t so keen on repenting. John doesn’t hold back, come to a Service of Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m. to hear more!
The Fourth Sunday in Advent is December 19, 2021.
In today’s Gospel, Luke mixes it up a bit, in order to prepare us for the Christmas readings. We join Elizabeth, pregnant with John, being visited by Mary, who is also pregnant with our Lord and Saviour. This is a lovely story, we hope you can join us for a service of Lessons & Carols at 11:00 a.m.
