Prayers of the People

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 2 Timothy 1:1-2

Prayer is an essential part of a Christian’s walk with God. This is how we communicate with Him, and one way He communicates with us. But God also assigns us the responsibility of praying for other people.

Each week at St. Philip’s a lay-person in our congregation leads the Prayers of the People, providing intercessions and thanksgivings for the needs of the world, our local community, those in need, and the departed. If you want to pray along, here are our prayers from this past Sunday:
