On Wednesday, February 14 at 5:00 p.m. we had our Ash Wednesday Service. Imposition of the ashes was voluntary. This service is a prayerful and hallowed way towards Easter Sunday.
We continued our Lenten journey with Evening Prayer each Wednesday in Lent, at 5: 00 p.m. beginning on February 21, through to March 20. This is a time of prayer, readings from the Bible, and quiet contemplation.
On Sunday March 24 for Palm Sunday, at 9:00 a.m., as we celebrated Jesus’ journey into Jerusalem, and also prepare our hearts for Easter with the reading of the Passion.
And then on Maundy Thursday, March 28, we remembered the Last Supper, where Jesus ate and drank with his disciples for the last time. This service was at St. Philip’s at 7:30 p.m., and was recorded by South Bay United. Click on the REMEMBER ME photo for links to the video.
On Good Friday, March 29, at 9:30 a.m., we were so glad to join with our friends at South Bay United Church, at 2029 County Rd 13, for a joint service. We felt very welcomed in this service of remembrance of our Lord’s crucifixion. Please click on the PHOTO for the link to the video of the service.
Alleluia, the Lord has risen!
St. Philip’s celebrated Easter on Sunday, March 31, 9:00 a.m. It was a chilly but sunny morning, and the church looked lovely. This was a service of Holy Communion, with a full choir, and they led us wonderfully.
The Lord in Risen, Indeed!
